‘A Modern Symphony Inside a Historic Shell’

This unique Texas Tudor-style cottage, originally constructed in 1927, underwent a complete transformation—essentially a full new construction project that preserved only the antique façade, some original framing, and the home’s beautiful white oak floors that have stood the test of time. We added an entirely new structure in the back, invisible from the street. Beyond millwork, we created a full suite of custom furniture, including our line of mechanically isolated, audiophile-inspired AV furniture. The project culminated in fully completed his and hers primary suite wardrobes and a stunning, fully grain-matched home office desk area that serves as both functional workspace and showcase of fine craftsmanship.

Jatobá, also known as Brazilian Cherry, is one of the world's hardest woods. It is found throughout the jungles of Latin America, where it is prized for its rich hues, grain pattern, and exceptional durability.

Lemurian Labradorite

Lemurian Labradorite is a stunning stone featuring a semi-precious mineral from the captivating landscape of Madagascar. This stone is exotic and unique with every piece. We carefully selected each slab for book matching and the ultimate sparkle under the lights from our custom-designed and fabricated range hood.

White Oak

White Oak Floors, we reworked and refinished the floors that are over 100 years old as a nod to the history of the home and for exceptional dimensional stability and warmth.

Jatobá and White Oak – Solid Wood

Our modernist millwork package showcased the natural beauty of white oak paired with stunning Jatoba (Brazilian cherry) wood throughout the home. Importantly, we crafted everything in solid wood rather than veneer—a far more luxurious approach that allows for repairs and refinishing over time, aligning with KCA’s commitment to longevity and sustainability. This includes our signature solid wood J-pulls for integrated handles that create seamless, ergonomic functionality.

Black Pearl and Lemurian Labradorite Granite

The surfaces tell their own story of luxury and contrast: black pearl granite and Lemurian labradorite create stunning visual impact with their reflective brilliance and semi-precious mineral inclusions. These materials were carefully selected to complement the home’s dual personality—respecting its Tudor heritage while embracing contemporary sophistication.
